Through Liz’s design journey, she has had the opportunity to work in a variety of creative environments and touch brands from a range of verticals. Starting as a graphic designer, her first big opportunity was with the Phoenix Suns. Followed by 4 years as an interactive designer and art director at Sitewire Digital Marketing. She then wanted to focus her talents as a user experience designer and was brought onto the in-house team at University of Phoenix.

Currently, Liz is working with a variety of businesses as a freelance designer. She has most recently had the opportunity to support several projects for the 2024 NCAA Men’s Final Four Phoenix Host Committee amongst other clients within a variety of industries.

Aside from daily work life, Liz has been heavily involved in the local design community as a volunteer. From 2009-2017, she served on the AIGA Arizona Board of Directors, ending her time with a 2-year term as President. Prior to that she served as Communications Director and Programs Director. Additionally she was director of Phoenix Design Week from 2015-2017. In 2017, the team received a Silver Addy and in 2018, a Gold Addy (page 54).

To learn a bit more about Liz, she was #50 of the 2016 series of Phoenix New Times Top 100 Creatives and shortly after was interviewed by a local design studio, Monomyth. She was also interviewed by VoyagePhoenix in 2020 as part of the Phoenix’s Most Inspiring Stories series.

Most notably, 2018 was a game changer. She took a step back from all of the volunteer activity and freelance projects to focus her energy towards pregnancy and the September birth of her little girl.

After three short months of maternity leave, Liz returned to the office with new opportunities and challenges fronting her for 2019 including a new role, routine and responsibilities.

In 2019 her University of Phoenix team won a Gold Addy (page 65) for Change the System Cross Promotional Brand Campaign, and in 2020, a Gold Addy and Copywriting of the Year (page 10 and 52) for Discover Your Wings Cross Promotional Brand Campaign.

In March 2021, Liz reignited her volunteer spirit as a mentor with ADPList, connecting with designers and supporting them with portfolio reviews or conversations and advice to fulfill her continued effort to give back to the design community. Through 2020-2022, Liz had the chance to build out a robust in-house UX/UI creative team for University of Phoenix. She grew the practice and elevated the focus on the end-to-end student journey. And in January 2022, Liz welcomed her second child.

Rounding out 2022, Liz was offered an opportunity with PXG (PARSONS XTREME GOLF) as a Principal UX Director for eCommerce and website experience of pxg.com. She worked alongside talented developers and product team members, working feverishly to grow and improve the customer journey and touch points across the website. The many goals and initiatives for 2023 had her focused and excited for the work the team was producing – navigation, cart and checkout, and mobile optimization to name a few.

Come 2024, Liz had her third child in January, now a mother to three. She has taken on new freelance clients and projects in varying industries. Join the fun and send a note her way!
